This intervention is for children aged 4 to 7 with delayed language. Talkboost KS1 narrows the gap between them and their peers. See attached flyer and website: https://icancharity.org.uk/talk-boost-ks1-homepage.
Talk Boost KS1 is a targeted intervention for 4-7 year old children with language that is delayed, including children in Reception classes. The programme is delivered in primary schools by classroom teachers and teaching assistants and provides a structured programme that boosts children’s progress in language and communication by an average of 9 - 18 months after a ten-week intervention.
It also includes activities for the class teacher each week. This training will be useful for schools who already have the resources but need to train new staff or refresh staff knowledge. If the SENCo is new to the programme, we recommend they attend as well.
Audience: We recommend that 3 members of staff attend: the Senco/Inclusion Manager (unless they have already attended), the year group lead/class teacher and the teaching assistant/nursery nurse who will be running the intervention.
CLOSING DATE: Friday 5th June.
IMPORTANT EXTRA INFORMATION: You will need to purchase Talk Boost KS1 (£500) in advance and bring it on the day. Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or Karen.email@example.com for the order form.
